Day 1 of Trekking the Huayhuash Circuit by G-adventures
Todays plan:
“Arrive at any time
There are no planned activities so check into the hotel and enjoy the city.”
I get up late. Go down to the basement and have a look at the breakfast. Seems ok. I go to the Courtyard Mariott for the Almond croissants anyway.
Delicius breakfast. After this I go to the claro shop, get a sim card fir 5 Soles and top up 40 soles for 3GB for 3 days. Should be enough. Everything works smooth and fast, there are nearly no people, this time I get a spanish speaking clerk.
Then I go to Cavallis – closed. Building for rent. hmm, best food in Lima. I go to Vivanda super market. Try to block a table at Punto Azul Restaurant, then I walk back to the hotel. Nice Grafitti everywhere.
I have a shower and go for food. I order Ceviche and a fiah tart. Afterwards a chocolate cake.
On the way back I see the people dancing on Parque central de Miraflores again. I stop an watch.
At 18:00 hrs. there is the G briefing. I meet the group of 9. Two are missing. Maybe they just have the outdated info from the app, that gmthe briefing is at 19:00 hrs. I meet Fredy, CEO. He tells us to buy snacks for tomorrows 8 hts. bus ride, for which we will leave at minutes before 08:00 am. Bring cash and you can take mir luggage pn the trek since muli ate carrying. he talks about 10 kgs each. everybody is happy. He offers an acclimatization lagoon walk to a lagoon for 30 USD each. I do everything.
Big luggage will be left in Huaraz and brought by a driver to Chiquian. Sleeping bags are available for rent, but expensive as they are super thermo. Fredy say, at night it will be down to 0°. All are happy.
No common welcome lunch. We all go separately to supermarkets to get more snacks and prepare for tomorrow for an 8 hrs bus ride.
