Day 04 of Galapagos – West, Central and East islands on board of the Estrella del Mar by G-Adventures

Todays plan:

“In the morning, see the towering cliffs of Buccaneer Cove and keep an eye out for the hundreds of birds nesting on the edge. Later, land at Puerto Egas home to the elusive Galápagos hawk. Visit the salt crater as well as a dark-sand beach and tidal pools.

Playa Espumilla Excursion; Playa Espumilla
Head to Playa Espumilla, one of the most idyllic beaches in the Galápagos Islands, which has thick mangroves and sea turtle nesting sites.

Puerto Egas Visit; Puerto Egas
Explore the spectacular shoreline of Puerto Egas, also known as James Bay. Spot a great number of shore birds and reptiles – the beach area is home to a plethora of wildlife.

Sail from Santiago Island to Fernandina Island

Indiras itinerary:

I get up at 06:30 am and go to the “Solarium”, as they call the shadowless upper deck. It is cloudy but warm, sea is calm. The ride in the night was not bad, we just changed position on the island and anchored most of the night.

I go for breakfast.

We board the Dinghis for a ride around some rocks.

After the dinghi ride we come back to Estrella to go snorkelling.

We come back on board, have a hot shower. Sharks are circling around the boat. We are not allowed to go in.

After lunch break we go snorkelling again.

Hot shower – walk on ego port.

We come back onboard, get the briefing for tomorrow, have dinner, qwirkle and go to sleep.

Finally I reach 100 % of oxygen saturation. It needed snorkelling below sea level.

Accommodation: onboard Estrella del Mar, Galapagos Islands
