Todays plan:
“Cuenca
Be ready at 09:00 hrs at Inti Sisa Art Guesthouse, Guamote to be picked up.
Today you will be transferred from your from hotel in Guamote to Riobamba bus station. You will catch your bus to from Alausi to Cuenca between 10:30 – 11:00 hrs. Your driver will help you to buy a ticket.”
I changed the plan. I stay in Cuenca, skip Guayaquil and go from here instead of a public bus (10 usd, 4 hours min) with a shared private transport (12 is, 3 hours max) directly to the airport, tomorrow. The people of Posada del Angelo are very helpful in organizing taxi, bus ticket, …
I have breakfast, then I walk to San Sebastian church right behind the hotel.
After this I go to main plaza, get on the hop on hop of bus. I do the south line, climb up a viewpoint and drive back to the main plaza.
The old city is marked on each end with marble crosses.
On the top floor of the bus you have to take care of low hanging cables. They easily scalp you …
We go on a small part of the Panamericana, that runs through Cuenca.
On a viewpoint we get a try of a local liquer, nothing special.
After that I go to the market again
And then to the cuenca museo of precolombian archeology. A private collection of mostly ceramics of pre Inca cultures, which shows art and pottery, when and where which culture was living and how creation technologies and abilities evolved.
Then I go to back the hotel, get my running gear and run quenca. Running on 2.500 masl altitude is not the same. It gets cold. I run the river and the alley I have seen on todays bus tour. No other runner, even it is a sunny afternoon.
In the evening I go to sofi restaurant again. Finally I donot forget my Estragon…
They usually open late for brunch (11:00 hrs). But they are willing to do my breakfast at 09:30 hrs anyway because they are here, anyway. Fine, I’ll come tomorrow again.
Accomodation: Hostal Posada del Angel, Cuenca
